Ingredients
6 hamburger buns Hamburger 6 Buns | |
1.5 lbs. ground pork | |
1/4 cup Italian breadcrumbs | |
2 cloves garlic minced | |
Juice from 1/2 lemon | |
2 tbsp. mayo | |
1 tbsp. grainy mustard (such as Creole) | |
1 egg | |
6 slices of cheddar cheese | |
Arugula leaves | |
Salt & pepper to taste | |
2 tbsp. olive oil | |
6 tbsp. butter | |
4 onions thinly sliced | |
1 tsp. ground thyme | |
2 bay leaves | |
1 cup beef broth | |
2 tbsp. light brown sugar | |
2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar | |
Salt and pepper |
Instructions
To make caramelized onions: |

1 | In a large skillet over medium heat, heat butter and olive oil. |
2 | Add onions, salt, pepper, thyme and bay leaf. Saute on medium heat for about 30 minutes or until onions are caramelized, . Stirring constantly.3. |
3 | Add broth, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar. Stir with a spoon until sugar dissolves, and cook until liquid has evaporated, and onions are jammy and moist. |
4 | Lower the heat to very low, keep warm until ready to serve. |
To make burgers: |

1 | In a large mixing bowl combine ground pork, breadcrumbs, garlic, lemon juice, mayo, mustard, egg. |
2 | Divide mixture into 6 equal portions and form them into patties. Make the burger patties’ diameters slightly larger than your slider buns as they will shrink a bit, and make a small divot in the middle so they stay flat after being cooked. |
3 | Oil grill and then pre-heat grill to medium-high heat. Add patties and cook for 4-5 minutes each side. |
4 | Toast Gadoua® Hamburger buns to your preference. |
To assemble: |

1 | Place grilled patties over bottom bun, add lots of caramelized onions, and garnish it with fresh arugula leaves, cover with top bun and enjoy! |
